|Title:||18th Century New England Oxbow Front Four Drawer Chest|
|Size:||H 36in x W 37in x D 18.75in|
Rare and important antique New England maple oxbow chest of drawers with conforming bracket foot in tall and elegantly scrolled configuration. The one-piece top has a thumb molded edge and a nice overhang with the side boards each being a single piece of maple. The secondary woods are white northern pine as are all of the secondary wood blocks on the base. The drawer spacers are scratch beaded in the Queen Anne manner and implies an early date as do the tool marks on the inside of each of the crooked front drawer. The brasses are old replacements and are appropriate to the period.
New England, circa 1750.
